Privacy
This page explains, in plain words, what MediaTrove stores, how your uploads are processed, and which other companies help us do it. MediaTrove is run by 123TEQ, LLC. MediaTrove is an early product, and this page describes how it works today.
This website
This website does not set cookies and does not run analytics or advertising scripts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles every request and may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses.
When you book a demo
The form asks for your name and email address, and, if you choose, your organisation and what you'd like to explore. We email these details to our team and use them only to reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list. The details stay in our email.
When you set up a library
To set up a library we ask for a library name and your email address. We email you a setup link. When you open it, we create your library and your account, and our team is told that a new library exists. Your password is stored only in hashed form.
Your uploads
- Where they are kept. Your files are stored with Cloudflare (storage and database). Each library is separate: people signed in to one library can't see another library's files. Everyone signed in to your library can see everything in it.
- How they are processed. To describe, tag and search your media, MediaTrove sends it to these services:
- Photos, PDFs and still frames from your videos are sent to an AI model (Google Gemini, reached through OpenRouter) to be described and tagged.
- File names, descriptions, tags, notes, transcripts and the words you search for are sent to an AI model (OpenAI, reached through OpenRouter) to make search work.
- Videos are prepared on Modal, a computing service, and the speech in them is transcribed by Cloudflare's AI service.
- Faces. MediaTrove finds faces in photos and videos and groups similar faces together. It never names anyone; a person in your library types a name. “Forget this person” deletes that person's face data and name tags and keeps the files. Face data is sensitive: please make sure the people in your media are happy for it to be used this way.
- Sharing. A share link lets anyone who has it open one file, without signing in, until the link expires or you revoke it.
- Deleting. When you delete a file, it is deleted permanently, together with the frames made from it. There is no undo.
Closing your library
To close your library and have its contents deleted, email us at the address below.
